How Do I Know If I Need To Work With An Architect and/or Engineer?

It’s always best to consult with an Architect/Engineer if you are:

 

  • Building a new property

  • Adding on to your property

  • Making major changes - Adding or removing walls

  • Repairing major damage - Review storm or fire damage, plan a rebuild, fix cracks or sags in walls, footings, roof or chimney

  • Any time you are concerned about the structural integrity of your property.

What’s The Difference Between a Home Inspector and a Civil Engineer?

Home inspectors are only looking for varied signs of trouble on a property and will advise calling in specialists where it’s needed. They provide a general sense of the overall property’s condition and capacity as a dwelling.

Civil Engineers, we are considered among these specialists. Home inspectors will refer our services when the property’s soundness is in question.

How Much Does an Engineer Cost?

Every project differs, but in general a good rule of thumb when budgeting for Architecture & Engineering services is 8% to10% of the total cost of your renovation.

Are Contracts Required When Working with Architect and/or Engineer?

We typically require service agreement contracts prior to initiating services.

How Long Does It Take To Get Drawings?

The turnaround time is highly dependent on the scope of your project. However, 3-6 weeks is about average. We also aren’t your typical “design & fly” firm. We want to ensure your project’s success, so we maintain consistent and open communication and coordination with you during the design process of your project. Our goal is to ensure you have a quality design product you can rely on.

What Happens After I Schedule Services Online?

You’ll receive an appointment confirmation and calendar invite via email. Be sure to check your spam/junk folders or even your “promotions” tab in case you don’t see the invite in your primary inbox. We will also send you automated appointment reminders 24-hours and 1-hour ahead of your scheduled appointment.

Can I Cancel or Reschedule My Appointment?

Absolutely! Just use the provided link in your appointment confirmation email or in any of the periodic reminder emails sent ahead of your originally scheduled appointment.

Can I Request Changes During or After Services Have Been Fully Rendered?

Absolutely! Just be advised that for design products, some changes may incur a change-order fee. Just send us an email or give us a call to initiate the request.
